Macron ’s presence in the US market is expanding yet again with another prestigious agreement, this time linking the Italian brand with PGA Jr. League , which brings families and friends together around fun, team golf experiences for kids ages 17 and under, with expert coaching from PGA of America Golf Professionals. ‘From Grassroots to Pro’: never has one of the slogans expressing Macron’s approach to sport been so appropriate as in the company’s recent multi-year partnership agreement with PGA Jr. League, the organisation that represents young golfers in the United States. Starting this year, Macron will supply kits to thousands of PGA Jr. League courses in all parts of the United States, ‘dressing’ over 70,000 youngsters in two age groups: under 13 and under 17.
PGA Jr. League offers thousands of boys and girls a chance to start playing golf under the guidance of expert coaches provided by the PGA of America – the organisation composed of more than 30,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals and owns and operates numerous championships and events, including major championships for men, women, seniors and the Ryder Cup, one of the world’s foremost sporting events. The PGA Jr. League’s approach starts with pure fun but gradually hones the skills of young golfers thanks to the professionalism and competence of PGA Coaches.
Members of PGA Jr. League will immediately be provided with new game sets made by Macron and consisting of elegant, comfortable polo shirts in different versions for boys and girls. Two models are available: Sandler and Watson. Both are polos with knitted necks in navy blue and sea green. All the new shirts feature a horizontal orange band across the chest and tone on tone, dye-sub printed graphics on the front and back consisting of repeated series of crossed golf clubs. The PGA Jr. League logo appears on the left of the chest, and the Macron Hero on the back, between the shoulders. The main fabric is Piola, which combines a retro look with excellent softness and elasticity. Micromesh inserts give the shirts reduced weight and greater breathability. Along with the polos, members will also receive Macron headwear in the form of a customised PGA Jr. League baseball cap or visor.
This latest agreement confirms Macron’s expansion policy in the North American market. Last June, the company opened a subsidiary in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to optimise its support for the country’s top sporting federations.
“Our new agreement with PGA Jr. League is particularly important as it represents a further step towards establishing our brand in the United States. We are committed to the US market and are determined to invest in it and to become the point of reference for all US clubs, federations and sports associations,” declared Gianluca Pavanello , CEO of Macron. “This new partnership also represents our entry into the world of golf. We are delighted young American golfers will soon be able to benefit from Macron’s quality, technology and elegance.”
“Our partnership with Macron will further elevate the player experience for tens of thousands of kids by providing high-quality, customized gear that positions them––and their PGA Coaches––as the heroes of their story,” said Steve Tanner , Senior Director of Player Engagement with the PGA of America. “We admire Macron’s commitment to innovation through its unique designs and materials. Their utilization of the PGA Jr. League brand’s secondary colors, paired with the PGA of America’s crossed clubs, represents both the future and the storied tradition of the game.”
